Tuna Patties

Ingredients for 4-6 servings

- 600g canned tuna, drained from the oil.

- 1 lemon.

- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil.

- 1 egg.

- Salt, black pepper.

- 2/3 cup of finely chopped green onion stalks.

- 2/3 cup of bunch of parsley (or cilantro), finely chopped.

- 3 tablespoons of flour or bread crumbs.

For the sauce:

- 1/2 cup of soy sauce.

- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil.

- 1 teaspoon of finely grated peeled Ginger root.

- 1 tablespoon of finely chopped green onion.

- Optional: chilli pepper chopped dried or fresh, to taste.


1. Put the tuna

in a bowl, dissolve it and squeeze a little lemon juice into it. Stir. Add the oil, egg, salt and pepper, green onions and parsley (or cilantro, if you prefer) and mix. Add the flour and mix again.

2. Create papier patties plum-sized balls and flatten them slightly together.
3. Heat the oil for
a half-deep frying pan, and fry the patties over medium-high heat until there are golden on both sides. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels, to absorb excess oil. Serve more fresh lemon juice on top if desired, even with the sauce.
4. Sauce: Place in a bowl the soy sauce, green onions, sesame oil, grated ginger and hot pepper (if desired) and mix until you get a uniform sauce. Serve with patties.
